A Wick man subject to a 7pm-7am curfew was found in a local pub late at night, the town's sheriff court heard on Monday.

Liam Begg admitted a breach of the curfew order, and a previous offending record, when he appeared from custody.

The order was imposed at Inverness Sheriff Court on November 1, last year.

Police officers acting on a tip-off called at Begg's home in Murchison Street, Wick, but got no reply and traced the 20-year-old accused to the Crown Bar shortly before 11pm on Saturday and arrested him.

Sentence on Begg, who has additional, unrelated cases pending, was deferred until May 3. He was granted bail.
