Covid statistics show 514 cases in Caithness in latest seven-day period

There were 514 new Covid-19 cases in Caithness in the most recent seven-day period recorded by Public Health Scotland.

Among the county's seven neighbourhoods, Thurso West had the highest number of positive tests at 113 based on people tested for the virus between March 6 and 12. This gave Thurso West a seven-day rate per 100,000 population of 2469.9.

There were 95 positive tests in Caithness North West, 73 in Caithness North East, 68 in Wick South and 67 in Wick North.

Thurso East had 51 cases and there were 47 in Caithness South.

There were 105 positive tests in the Sutherland South neighbourhood, 67 in Sutherland East and 50 in Sutherland North and West.

Positive cases across the Highland local authority area from March 6-12 totalled 4365, with a seven-day positive rate per 100,000 population of 1854.1 for the region as a whole.
