A number of local pupils have been told to self-isolate after cases of Covid-19 were confirmed at two Thurso schools – Miller Academy and Thurso High School.

A Highland Council spokeswoman said: “We are aware of a confirmed case of a staff member at Miller Academy, a pupil at Thurso High School, and a separate case of a staff member at Thurso High School.

"A group of individuals from both schools have been advised to self-isolate for 10 days by Health Protection Scotland. Letters were issued to parents. All necessary action has been taken at the school and the setting remains open.

“Highland Council continues to work in partnership with NHS Highland Health Protection Team.”
