Over the weekend a police CCTV van could be seen in various places throughout Caithness in a bid to reduce crime and deter anti-social behaviour.

The van was deployed by members of the Highland & Island Police Division. A police spokesperson said: "The CCTV van is a valuable resource to help prevent crime and deter anti-social behaviour.

"The local communities welcomed the van in their areas and members of the public were delighted to see it patrolling. Our intention is to have the CCTV van in and around the area routinely."

Designed to help prevent and detect crime, as well as reassuring the public about community safety, the van was observed during patrols down at the harbour in Wick.
