Cats Protection Caithness raises funds and awareness at Wick pet shop
Volunteers for Caithness Cats Protection were in Wick’s Pets at Home shop raising money and giving advice and support to cat owners.
They raised over £430 which will all go towards helping the cats in their care, food, vet bills and other medicine and equipment.
Local coordinator, Deirdre Campbell, said: “We are overwhelmed with the kindness of folk when they see us in store. People buy raffle tickets and leave donations, often stopping for a chat about their own cats or offering their services as volunteers.
“Last weekend we raffled a lovely hamper and gave away lots of little prizes as well. We are always looking for people to help cats, so if you see us again, please come and talk.”
Fundraising team leader, Joan Campbell added: “We have a few fundraising dates coming up and we will also be holding an online raffle.
“We have two Michael Kors handbags to give away to some lucky winners. Please keep an eye on our Facebook page and website for further details.”
Caithness Cats Protection will be fundraising on the following dates:
• Saturday, October 26, 10am-4pm in Pets at Home, Halloween.
• Saturday, November 9, 2pm-5pm in Strathy Hall, Christmas Fayre.
