Car accident near Reiss

No injuries were reported after a vehicle left the road and collided with a wall near Reiss this morning.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "A car left the road due to ice at 9.15am this morning on A99 – there were no injuries."

A witness said the vehicle hit a drystone dyke close to Ackergill Tower and a section of the wall collapsed.

This morning's Highland Council road weather report for Caithness said there was "a dusting of snow" on high routes and on lower routes a "mix of white frosts and sparkling roads" which were treated by priority.
