A Halkirk man who admitted cultivating cannabis was fined £325 at Wick Sheriff Court on Wednesday.

Police officers found the stalks of nine cannabis plants at the home of Steven Donn at Geise House Farm, on December 20, 2020.

Fiscal David Barclay said that Donn (52) told police officers that the Class B drug was for his own use.

The fiscal added: "There was nothing to suggest anything otherwise."
