A HIGHLAND green initiative has announced the opening of applications in support of local environmental projects in the region.

The Think Health Think Nature partnership, whose goal is to show natural environment can be used to help tackle key health issues, will be supporting community projects with the Highland Green Health Small Grant Fund 2022, with entries to apply having opened on May 16.

Applications are invited from community groups within the Highland Council area, for projects up to a value of £1500. The fund is open until 5pm on the 13th of June 2022.

The aim of the fund will be to contribute towards sustained green health action across Highland.

Since 2019, Think Health Think Nature have supported 53 community projects across Highland with small grant funding that has helped to connect people with nature for their improved physical and mental wellbeing.

Among the projects are Helmsdale Dementia Friendly Communities and Kinlochleven Community Trust's Cycle Day.
