Call for Caithness crofters to make sure details are up to date ahead of annual notice
Crofters are being urged to check that their personal details on the Register of Crofts are up to date ahead of the distribution of the annual notice.
The notice will be sent out to all crofters in early January and the Crofting Commission is reminding people that it is a mandatory requirement for all crofters who receive a letter to complete and return it.
By encouraging crofters to review their details now, the Crofting Commission wants to ensure that all letters are sent to the correct addresses, preventing delays and issues with compliance.
Andrew Thin, convener of the Crofting Commission, said: “We are asking crofters to take a few moments to check their details on the Register of Crofts. Accurate information is essential for us to effectively communicate with everyone and to ensure the smooth running of the annual notice process.
“By working together to keep the register accurate, we can make the upcoming return period as efficient as possible for the entire crofting community.”
The commission says that the process is straightforward and can be completed online.
Crofters should visit the Register of Crofts at https://www.crofting.scotland.gov.uk/register-of-crofts to search for and verify their information.
If the details are correct, no further action is needed. If any information is out of date, crofters should use the online application process to submit a change of details.
