CAITHNESS is set to heavily feature on BBC One programme Landward tonight as the show explores different aspects of the county.

Hosted by Dougie Vipond, he goes on a ride with crew members of Thurso Lifeboat to learn about the dangers of the Pentland Firth.

Sarah Mack will be on the hunt for killer whales off Caithness and also visits a flagstone quarry to learn about the success of Caithness stone.

The show will also feature Euan McIlwraith visiting Stroma to learn about its history and why its last inhabitants left the island.

The show is being broadcast tonight at 7.30pm on BBC One.
