High Life Highland (HLH) and Highland Young Musicians are looking for your help in bringing together the largest orchestra the Highlands has ever seen.

The event will take place in Bellfield Park, Inverness, on Saturday, September 11 from 10.30am until 4pm – anyone who can play an orchestral or wind instrument is invited to take part.

Family Music Day announced.

HLH music development officer Norman Bolton said: “We’d love to see musical families taking part but we’re equally welcoming of all musicians who want to get involved.

“We’ve chosen the music to suit grade four and above, so whether you’re a saxophonist, violinist, clarinettist, or tuba player, everyone is welcome to join us. We’ll email you the music we plan to play in advance and the day promises to be a vibrant celebration of live music making, something we’ve sorely missed over the last 18 months.”

Although the event is free, a minimum donation of £5 per player is being asked for on the day to offset the costs involved. Online registration to take part in the Family Music Day is essential, as there is a maximum number allowed to be involved.
