Caithness mart prices – Quoybrae, Aberdeen and Northern Marts

Quoybrae, Aberdeen and Northern Marts, on Monday, January 10, sold 809 sheep.

Old Season Prime lambs (291) averaged 242.9p per kg and sold to 292.3p for 39kg Beltex from Stainland and Sibmister Farms and £125 gross for 54kg Cheviots from Wester, Dunnet.

Old Season Store Lambs (317) sold to £109 for Texels from Stainland and Sibmister Farms.

Feeding Ewes and Rams (201) averaged £111.40 and sold to £212 for Half-Bred’s from Lynegar, Watten.

“All classes of prime lambs followed national trends. The ewe ring in Quoybrae today witnessed an outstanding trade throughout with a whopping average of £111.40 achieved, topping at £212 for a Suffolk X Half-Bred from W Barnetson and Son, Lynegar, Watten.”
