Local councillors have contributed £500 each to three Caithness groups to help with their Covid-19 community support.

The sums are part of the ward discretionary payments agreed each month by Caithness members of Highland Council.

The organisations receiving the funding are Ormlie Community Association (Thurso and Northwest Caithness), Dunbeath and District Centre (Wick and East Caithness) and Caithness Voluntary Group (the two wards combined).

In addition, £1150 was allocated from the Caithness Burial Grounds Trust to Caithness Voluntary Group on behalf of the Friends of East Caithness Cemeteries to buy a ride-on mower and various hand tools to help volunteers supplement the routine works carried out by Highland Council burial grounds staff.
