Caithness members of Highland Council have allocated almost £2000 to local groups to help with their response to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Under the latest ward discretionary payments, £500 was awarded by Ward 2 (Thurso and Northwest Caithness) to Ormlie Community Association. Wards 3 and 2 combined (Wick and East Caithness as well as Thurso and Northwest Caithness) agreed to give £500 each to Caithness Klics young carers and Hearing and Sight Care, as well as £450 to Caithness Archers.

Members agreed eight payments of £1000 each following applications to the Caithness Educational Trust.
