The event was organised by the home’s activity coordinator Carina McLauchlan.

The day began with the Address to a Haggis, delivered by former North School headmaster, Dennis Lundie. His engaging and enthusiastic rendition of the famous Burns poem set the tone for the day, adding a sense of ceremony and reverence to the occasion.

The Address to a Haggis, one of the central pieces of any Burns celebration, was made even more special by the accompaniment of local piper Andrew Sinclair, whose stirring bagpipes echoed through the home and truly captivated the essence of Scottish pride.

After the address, the residents tucked into to a comforting traditional feast of Haggis, neeps and tatties followed by cranachan. The afternoon continued with an array of entertainment that had everyone tapping their feet and enjoying the festive atmosphere.

Seaview’s resident ambassador charmed the audience with tales of the poet bringing the words of the bard to life. The afternoon also featured local vocalist Clare Sturrock, whose beautiful voice delighted all in attendance, and musician Addie Harper, a well-known face, added a lively varied dimension to the day’s events.

The day was a true celebration of Scottish culture and community offering residents local and from further afield a chance to reminisce about traditions whilst creating new memories with loved ones. Seaview would like to thank those who gave their time freely to participate.
