Youngsters from Castletown Primary School and Nursery have been pictured with this year's bumper contribution to the Blythswood Shoebox Appeal, donated by supporters from across Caithness and north Sutherland.

Christine Stone, coordinator for Castletown and the surrounding communities, reported this week that the appeal had surpassed last year’s target with 442 boxes full of festive gifts being loaded onto the Blythswood lorry and £390 being handed over to help with the costs of transporting them to eastern Europe and beyond.
