Thirty-four fresh Covid cases logged in NHS Highland area

THIRTY-FOUR new cases of Covid-19 have been reported in the NHS Highland area over the past day, statistics released today state.

It brings to 4148 the total number of cases notified in the region.

The health board area's seven-day total was 219.

Across Scotland, a total of 895 new cases of Covid-19 were reported.

A total of 17,940 new tests that reported results gave a positive rate of 5.9 per cent.

Sadly, 48 new reported deaths of people who have tested positive were reported.

Some 117 people are in intensive care with recently confirmed Covid-19

1729 people are in hospital with recently confirmed Covid-19

A total of 786,427 people have received the first dose of the Covid vaccination and 10,332 have received their second dose, according to the statistics released today.
