A9 trunk road closed both ways in Easter Ross following crash between motorbike and small van at Kildary; Police Scotland, Scottish Ambulance Service and two appliances from the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service’s Invergordon station attended

The A9 is closed in Easter Ross following a two vehicle crash.

The collision occurred at Kildary at around 11.11am on Sunday morning and police, ambulance and fire crews were dispatched to the scene.

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) said the collision involved a motorbike and a small van. Two fire engines from Invergordon were sent to the crash scene and used powered rescue equipment and small tools before standing down at 11.39am.

It is not yet known if there have been any injuries. Police and the Scottish Ambulance Service have been approached for information.

Meanwhile, motorists in the area have been warned of likely disruption, with Traffic Scotland confirming the road had been closed in an update at 12.15pm.

It advised drivers to use alternative routes and warned that delays to journey times were “expected”.
