AIRD - It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of Kenneth John Macpherson Aird, 'Rosemount', Willowbank, Wick, announce his peaceful passing on Monday, January 25, 2021, at Caithness General Hospital following a brief illness. Ken was born in Tain, Ross-shire on December 8, 1925. He is predeceased by his father Joseph Turner Aird (November 5, 1970); his mother Margaret Ann Macpherson (August 8, 1985); and his devoted and loving wife Gwendolyn Louise (August 10, 2018). Leaving to mourn a much loved, caring and wonderful father and grandfather is his devoted daughter Angela King (Dick) and the pride and joy of his life, granddaughters Meghan and Anna; nephew John Cook; his companion 'Sooty', as well as other relatives and devoted dear friends in the UK, Canada and Australia. A funeral service will take place in Sinclair’s Rest Rooms, Macarthur Street, Wick on Wednesday, February 3, 2021. Following the Wick service the funeral will proceed to Tain, Ross-shire for the graveside service and burial at the family plot. For further information please contact Clair Harper on 0774 775 3668. Flowers gratefully accepted. A celebration of Ken’s life will take place at a later date following the pandemic. Due to Covid-19 restrictions the funeral service is limited to 20 persons.
