MACKAY - The Mackay family would like to thank all relatives, friends and neighbours for the many kind expressions of sympathy received by way of flowers, cards, messages and phone calls following the sad loss of Betty, their dearly loved mam, nan and great-nan. Sincere thanks to the doctors, nurses and staff at the Halkirk Surgery for their unstinting care and attention particularly over the past few years and to the doctors and nursing staff of the Bignold and Rosebank Wings of Caithness General Hospital for their dedicated care over the last four months. Grateful thanks to Mrs Myrtle Gillies for her comforting words at the service and graveside, to Peter Sangster, her grandson, for sharing a collection of her grandchildren's special memories of a much loved nan and to Alan Plowman, piper, for his moving rendition of Amazing Grace at the graveside. Special thanks to Dunnett’s Funeral Directors for their professional and sympathetic handling of the funeral arrangements, to the Ulbster Arms for providing a lovely tea and finally, to all who came to pay their last respects at the church and graveside and so generously donated the sum of £1,120 for MacMillan Cancer Support. Very sadly missed.
