Huntly 3 Wick Academy 2

Scorers - Huntly: Wyness (2, 79) Stewart (77) Wick: Macgregor (52) Macadie (71)

TWO late goals saw Huntly grab all three points as Wick Academy left Christie Park empty handed despite a dominant performance.

The Scorries were guilty of conceding another early goal when after two minutes good build up play between Michael Ewen and Ross Still cut open the Wick defence to set up Dennis Wyness in the box who scored from close range.

Ewen should have put the hosts 2-0 up minutes later when he missed a golden chance eight yards in front of goal when he was unchallenged but blasted his shot wide.

Academy went on to stamp their authority on the game creating a number of chances in the first half but went into the interval behind.

However a piece of magic from Marc Macgregor seven minutes into the second half saw the striker produce a sensational overhead kick which flew into the top right corner from 12 yards.

Wick then went in front when they were awarded a penalty when Glenn Murison brought down Steven Anderson in the box. Richard Macadie expertly fired his spotkick into the bottom left hand corner out of the reach of Craig Reid.

Academy were looking comfortable until against the run of play Wick's defence were unable to deal with Murison's cross which scrambled its way to find Ryan Stewart who tapped the equaliser into the net from four yards.

Two minutes later, Huntly knocked the stuffing out of Academy when  Wyness was allowed to run into the box before firing the ball into the top right corner from 12 yards.

Aidan Reid almost equalised for Wick in injury time when he got his head on to a cross but was unable to guide it under the bar.
