A MAN who collapsed and was lying on the pavement in the Williamson Street area of Wick on Thursday was attended by police and ambulance crew.

Police said that a “male was found collapsed in the area and there may be medical issues involved”.

Part of the street was cordoned off.

A man working on a nearby site said that he'd been told by a workmate that a young man had collapsed and wasn't moving.

"He couldn't have been more than 25 years old, was just lying in the street," said the man, who did not wish to be named.

"The police and an ambulance arrived, and the ambulance took him away."
