Wick pet shop signs deal with top caterer

The SSPCA is urging dog owners not to leave their pets inside cars on hot days.A WICK pet shop will have top nosh on the menu from now on after signing a new contract with a leading food caterer.

Pets at Home, based at the retail park on South Road, has signed a deal with supplier Reynolds which will see all their in-store pets provided with the same quality fresh fruit and vegetables as the ones served at Pret a Manger, Carluccio’s and the Ramada Jarvis hotel chain.

Following the success of an initial six-month trial, Reynolds will supply a vast range of fruit, salads, herbs and vegetables – all tailored to the needs of each individual pet.

Wick store manager James Kelman explained that they provide the pets-to-be with fresh water and human-grade food every day and their feeding routines are based on recommendations from highly-qualified vets.

“Reynolds are experts at delivering fresh, high-quality food so our pets here in Wick will get the best and most appropriate produce to suit their individual dietary requirements,” he said. “Any pet owners with questions about the best diet for their pet can visit our store, we’re always happy to share our expertise.”

Local children interested in watching the pets being fed their healthy afternoon snacks and learning all about their feeding habits, can also take part in regular Picnic Time sessions at the store – every weekday at 4pm and at 2.30pm on Saturdays and Sundays.
