Passenger drop at Caithness railway stations

 

Scotscalder is one of five railway stations in Caithness

 

The number of passengers at all five railway stations in Caithness has dropped by almost 2500 in the space of 12 months.

Figures released by the Office of Rail Road have revealed the number of passengers has dropped from 60300 to 57818 between April 2015 to March 2016 and April 2016 to March 2017.

Thurso Railway Station saw passenger numbers drop from 38426 to 37322.

Wick Railway Station also saw a passenger drop from 19766 to 18438.

Scotscalder Railway Station dropped from 294 to 200.

Georgemas Junction saw a drop from 1572 to 1502.

But there was an increase Altnabreac also saw an increase from 312 to 356.
