I WOULD love to make contact with descendants of Barbara Robertson (b. 1790) and her first husband, name unknown. By 1822, he had evidently died and she married David Harper and had six more children.

In the 1851 census, she had two grandsons living with her, James Sutherland b.1847, and John McBeath b.1851, who were not grandchildren of Barbara's by the children she had with David Harper.

I don't have any idea where Barbara Robertson lived prior to her marriage to David Harper or even if she was married to the father(s) of her earlier daughter(s) and possibly other children. Barbara Robertson and David Harper lived in Hillhead when their first child was born, then in Staxigoe, then in a town the spelling I can't discern on the transcript of the birth records that Barbara Robertson Harper brought to North America with them.

The last two children were born in Bilbster and that is apparently where David died after the 1841 census but before the 1851 census. Barbara was living there with the adult children until they left for North America in 1856.
