Kevin McLeod

HIGH-PROFILE mediums have been used in an offbeat bid to shed fresh light on the suspicious death of young Wick man Kevin McLeod.

His family has co-operated in the screening of a TV programme which features the work of three psychics.

Kevin's parents, Hugh and June McLeod, and his uncle Allan McLeod have been battling to prove that the 24-year-old's death at Wick harbour over 10 years ago was murder.

They decided they had nothing to lose when approached about contributing towards a broadcast of Sky TV's Psychic Private Eyes.

The programme, which stars mediums Colin Fry, Tony Stockwell and T.J. Higgs, was shot in London, Wick and Allan's adopted home in Alness.

It included Tony Stockwell's visit to the family home in Nicolson Street and footage of the medium going out in a boat and circling round the inner harbour half a dozen times.

T.J. Higgs carried out a reading with Kevin's parents in London, while Colin Fry undertook out a psychometry – a form of extrasensory perception – using photographs and clothing belonging to Kevin.

Allan McLeod said the family's involvement in the production has reinforced their firm belief that Kevin was the victim of foul play.

He said: "We were really privileged that these very eminent psychics chose to investigate Kevin's death.

"Without giving too much away, their readings were very similar and it has all gone to strengthen our belief and strong suspicion that Kevin did not die of his own accord."

Kevin's family believe there has been a massive cover-up by police and are hoping the TV programme will help in their fight for justice.

Allan McLeod said: "Obviously, we need hard evidence to prove that Kevin was murdered. We're working on that, and we hope that the programme could prick someone's conscience and encourage them to lift the telephone and contact our solicitor."

Mr McLeod revealed that the family's solicitor has contacted the Crown Office with information which they believe could be hugely significant.

He said: "I can only describe it as dynamite in terms of proving that there has been a massive cover-up by the police."

Meanwhile, the family are preparing to have a follow-up meeting with Scottish Police Complaints Commissioner Jim Martin. They are hoping Mr Martin will bring Northern Constabulary to book for how it investigated the death.

Earlier this year, the family used the Freedom of Information Act to force the publication of an edited version of a damning report on the force's performance carried out by Chief Constable Andrew Cameron of Central Scotland Police.

Psychic Private Eyes is due to be broadcast on Thursday, October 11, on Sky's Zone Reality channel.

It follows the featuring of the police probe into Kevin's death by BBC TV's Frontline Scotland investigation team five years ago.
