Elayne Greene

Elayne Greene, eldest daughter of George and Christine Harper, Thurso Road, Wick, graduated from Northumbria University with a master's degree in Medical Law. Elayne previously graduated in 2004 from Queen Margaret University, Edinburgh, with a BSc in Nursing Studies, and from Napier University in 2000 as a first-level registered nurse, having been an enrolled nurse for 25 years. Elayne is at present the nursing services manager at Spire Murrayfield Hospital, Edinburgh.

Kathleen and Laura Gulloch

Kathleen Gulloch and her daughter Laura, of Castletown, graduated from the North Highland College UHI, both with a BA in Child and Youth Studies. Kathleen and Laura are currently at the University of Aberdeen studying for a postgraduate degree in Primary Education.

Brigitte Geddes, of Pulteneytown, graduated with a BSc (Honours) degree (upper second) in Environment and Heritage Studies (UHI MI) in Elgin. She was awarded an interdisciplinary BA (Honours) degree from the Open University in 1995.

Kerri-Louise Greene has graduated from the University of St Andrews with a BSc in Human Biology (Hons) (2:1). She is now studying medicine at the University of St Andrews. Kerri-Louise is the granddaughter of George and Christine Harper, Thurso Road, Wick.

Lynn Hardie

Lynn Hardie has graduated from the University of Glasgow with a BSc (Hons) (2:1) in Physiology and Sports Science. Lynn, daughter of David and Janice Hardie, is a former pupil of Miller Academy and Thurso High School. She is now taking a year out to travel around Australia and is planning to embark on a postgraduate degree in Physiotherapy when she returns.

Sandra Inrig

Sandra Inrig, a former pupil of Miller Academy and Thurso High School, graduated from the University of Edinburgh with a BEd (first-class honours) in Primary Education. Sandra, the eldest daughter of Benny and Marion Inrig, will begin teaching at Pennyland Primary School, Thurso, this month.

Kirsty Hinds

Kirsty Cameron Hinds, daughter of Grahame and Catherine Hinds, of Queens Terrace, Thurso, has graduated from the University of Glasgow with a BSc (Hons) (2:1) in Mathematics. Kirsty is a former pupil of both Mount Pleasant and Pennyland primary schools and Thurso High. At present she is working with Student Volunteers Abroad helping to build a school in Nepal.

Dawn Gordon, Overton, Mid-Clyth, graduated from the University of Paisley with a Bachelor of Education degree (second-class honours, upper division). Dawn, a former pupil of Lybster Primary School and Wick High, will begin teaching in Kirkhill Primary School, Broxburn, in August.

Jean Gunn

Jean Gunn graduated from the Open University with a BSc honours degree in Psychology. Jean, of Sibster Mains, Wick, received her award during a ceremony at Ely Cathedral, Cambridgeshire. She was accompanied to the graduation by her husband Steven Adamson, and parents Isobel and Harry Gunn of Reiss Lodge.

Kris Inkster

Kris Inkster graduated from the University of Newcastle upon Tyne with an MSc in Environmental Biogeochemistry. He also has a BSc degree in Geosciences. Kris now works with the Sirius Engineering Group based in Durham. Kris is a former pupil of Thrumster Primary School and Wick High. He is the son of John and Evelyn Inkster, of Thrumster.

He also graduated on the same day with an HNC in Construction Management. He is a former pupil of Dunbeath Primary School and Wick High and is currently working in Aberdeen.
