Jemma Bremner, daughter of John and Barbara Bremner, MacDonald Road, Invergordon, graduated BA (Hons) in History and Psychology from the University of Strathclyde. She is the granddaughter of Sandy and Claire McLeod, Coach Road, Wick, and Ina and the late Donald Bremner, Skaill Avenue, Lybster.

Angie Bell graduated from the University of Stirling with a BSc in Adult Nursing. She is the daughter of George and Freda Manson, Scrabster. Angie lives in Upper Burnside Drive, Thurso, with her husband Alan and children Gary, Ashley and Scott.

Joanne Marie Byrne, younger daughter of Catherine and the late William Byrne, of George Street, Wick, graduated with a BSc in LD Nursing from the University of Stirling.

Donna Bremner graduated from Aberdeen College with an HND in Beauty Therapy. Donna, a former pupil of Miller Academy and Thurso High School, now works in Aberdeen.

Andrew Buttress graduated with an HND in Furniture Construction and Design from Adam Smith College in Kirkcaldy. A former pupil of Miller Academy and Thurso High School and student of North Highland College UHI, Andrew is now in his second year of study towards an honours degree in Consumer Product Design at Napier University in Edinburgh. He is the youngest son of Steven and Mandy Buttress.

Andrew Crawford, elder son of Ron and Lesley Crawford, of Reay, graduated with a BSc (Hons) degree in Sports Technology from Napier University. Andrew is currently working with HSBC in Edinburgh.

Sheila Chapman graduated at Stirling University with a Postgraduate Diploma in Lifelong Learning. Sheila, a former pupil of Wick High School, is the daughter of the late Sinclair and Bessie Bremner, formerly of Glencairn, John O'Groats.

Michelle Cormack, daughter of Ann Warren and Robert Cormack, graduated from the University of Aberdeen with a BSc (Hons) (2:1) in Biomedical Sciences – Pharmacology. She is the granddaughter of David and Reena Warren, Thurso, and Isobel and Bert Cormack, Keiss. Michelle is continuing her studies for a master's degree at the Robert Gordon University in Aberdeen in September.

Fiona Chambers, the younger daughter of Alastair and Margaret MacDonald, Hill of Forss, graduated with a master's degree with merit in Procurement from the University of Glamorgan, Cardiff. Fiona works as global team leader with Hess Ltd in Aberdeen.

Calum Cunningham Bain, son of Alasdair and Marion Bain, Achalone, Halkirk, has graduated from the University of Glasgow with a BSc (Hons) (2:1) in Immunology. Calum is a former pupil of Halkirk primary and Thurso High School.

Heather Cass, daughter of Tommy and Pat Cass, formerly of Wick and Thurso, now living in Milngavie, Glasgow, has graduated from Glasgow Caledonian University with a BSc (Hons) in Psychology.

Jenna Coghill, daughter of Bryan and Jackie Coghill, Staxigoe, has graduated from Robert Gordon University, Aberdeen, with a BSc (Hons) (2:1) in Architecture. Jenna is a former pupil of Hillhead Primary School and Wick High School, and is the granddaughter of Catherine and Garry Henderson, Thurso, and Marrie and the late Bobby Coghill, Staxigoe.

Karen Anderson, daughter of Michael and Fiona Anderson, Shilling Hill, Wick, has graduated with an MA in International Relations – Management Studies (Hons) (2:1) from the University of Aberdeen. Karen is a former pupil of Pulteneytown Academy and Wick High School.

Kelly Allan, daughter of James and Jacquie Allan, has graduated from Queen Margaret University with a BSc (Hons) (second-class upper division) in Diagnostic Radiography. Kelly, a former pupil of Miller Academy and Thurso High School, has taken up a post in Ninewells Hospital, Dundee.

Michelle Coghill has graduated from Glasgow Caledonian University with a first-class honours degree in Physiotherapy. She is the daughter of George and Pauline Coghill, Stemster, and is a former pupil of Halkirk Primary School and Thurso High.

Aileen Allan, daughter of Frank and Winifred Allan, Coronation Street, Wick, graduated from the University of Glasgow with a BSc (Hons) (2:1) degree in Virology. Aileen is a former pupil of Pulteneytown Academy and Wick High.

Stuart J. Blumfield, of Reay, graduated with a BEng (Hons) (2:1) degree from Heriot-Watt University, Edinburgh. Stuart completed an apprenticeship with JGC Engineering and Technical Services, Harpsdale, Halkirk, before studying at Heriot-Watt. He is taking up a position with JP Kenny in Aberdeen. Stuart is the eldest son of Vi Blumfield and the late David, Reay.

Beverley Cook graduated from the University of Aberdeen with a Bachelor of Laws (Hons). Beverley, the daughter of the late Malcolm and Valerie Cook, is a former pupil of Wick North Primary School and Wick High.

Jamie Brennan has graduated with the degree of Bachelor of Laws with honours from the University of Edinburgh. Jamie's parents are Don and Tina Sutherland, from Haster. Jamie is a former dux of Wick High School.

Alisanne Bell graduated from the University of Strathclyde with BEd (Hons) (second class upper division) in Primary Education. Alisanne is a former pupil of Pennyland Primary School and Thurso High, and will begin teaching in King’s Park Primary School, Dalkeith, in August.

Amy Adam, a former pupil of Miller Academy and Thurso High School, has graduated with a BSc (Hons) in Mathematics from the University of St Andrews. Amy is now going to the University of Edinburgh to study for a Diploma in Education.

Deborah Anne Coghill has graduated from Jordanhill, Strathclyde University, Glasgow, with a BEd (Hons) in Primary Teaching. Deborah, who attended Miller Academy and Thurso High School, is the youngest daughter of Alan and Jane Coghill, of Bishop’s Drive, West Gills, Thurso. Deborah has taken up a post at Aberchirder Primary School, Huntly.

Susan Brown (22), youngest daughter of John and Evelyn Brown, Miller Avenue, Wick, has graduated from the Law School of the University of Strathclyde with a Specialist Paralegal Studies Certificate in Property Law. Susan, a former pupil of Wick North Primary School and Wick High, works as a conveyancing paralegal with local solicitors’ firm Georgesons.

Angela Crockett (née Plowman), daughter of Sheila and the late Donald Plowman, Thurso, graduated with an Advanced Diploma in Nursing Studies (Adult) from the University of Derby. Angela is currently working in Derby City General Hospital.

Tracey Aitken graduated from Napier University, Edinburgh, with a first-class BA (Hons) degree in Psychology. Tracey is the only daughter of James and Glennda Aitken, Seaforth Avenue, Wick, and a former pupil of Pulteneytown Academy and Wick High School.

Kara Coles (née Miller), of Riverbank House, Crescent Street, Halkirk, has gained an MSc in Project Management (with Distinction) from the University of Aberdeen. Kara works as a project planner with Alstec Ltd at Dounreay.

Gemma Cox has graduated from the University of Stirling with a BSc in Adult Nursing. Gemma, the daughter of Norman Cox and Lydia Elder, is a former pupil of Thurso High School and Old Machar Academy, Bridge of Don, and has taken a post in Raigmore Hospital, Inverness.

Julie Anne Bain, the daughter of Ian and Jean Bain, Oldhall, Watten, has graduated with a BSc in Adult Nursing from the University of Stirling. Julie is working in the Day Care Unit, Raigmore Hospital, Inverness.

Heather Cleland graduated MSc in Adult Guidance from the University of Strathclyde. Heather, of South View, Wick, is the daughter of William and Annabel Murray, Newton Row, Wick, and is project co-ordinator of the Thurso and Golspie TAG where training and guidance is provided for unemployed adults with mental health issues.

Jenna Bews graduated from the University of Stirling with a BA (Hons) in English. Jenna is the daughter of Stuart and Lena Bews, Aberdeen, and granddaughter of Vera (née Napier), who is originally from Wick, and the late Billy Bews, Kirkwall. Her great-grandparents came from Wick. Jenna is now studying Publishing at the University of Aberdeen.

Nicola Campbell, of Girnigoe Street, Wick, graduated with a diploma in Higher Education Nursing from the University of Stirling. Nicola is the daughter of Yvonne and Grant Campbell, Wick.

Murray Coghill, eldest son of Murray and Linda Coghill, Burnett Place, Thurso, graduated BSc (Distinction) in Mechanical Engineering from North Highland College UHI, Thurso. Murray, a former pupil of Mount Pleasant Primary School and Thurso High, is now working for Rolls-Royce at Vulcan.

Freya Barker, former pupil of Halkirk Primary School and Thurso High, graduated from Robert Gordon University with a Dipolma of Higher Education in Adult Nursing, with Distinction. Freya, from Clayock, Halkirk, is employed by Aberdeen Royal Infirmary in the cardiology ward.

Alison Brims, Brabsterdorran, has graduated from the University of Edinburgh with a 2:1 honours degree in Primary Education. Alison is a former pupil of Bower Primary and Wick High School and has begun her probationary post in Trinity Primary School, Edinburgh.

Paul Barnes graduated at Strathclyde University with a BA honours degree in Marketing. Paul is the son of Ernest and Carol, Renfrewshire, and grandson of Harry and Dorrie Barnes, Wick.

Richie Campbell, of Millbank Road, Thurso, has graduated with a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering (Hons) degree from Heriot-Watt University, Edinburgh. Richie was the last pupil to be made dux of Miller Academy before the award was discontinued at the school.

Chris Aitken, son of Michael and Maria Aitken, has graduated from the University of Aberdeen with a BSc in Computing Science (first-class honours). Chris has won the Amazon Award for the best honours project, he was a finalist for the Scotland I.S. Award and has been nominated for the National S.E.T Award. Chris is a former pupil of Keiss Primary School and Wick High.

Alexandra Bowles graduated from the University of Strathclyde with a Master in Pharmacy (first-class honours) degree. Alexandra, a former pupil of Thurso High School, was awarded the Royal Pharmaceutical Society Branch Prize for the best overall performance in the MPharm degree course and the Anthony Macmillan Memorial Medal for the best student in the final year of the MPharm degree course. She will be undertaking her pre-registration training at Great Ormond Street Hospital, London.

Lynne Bremner, of “The Clachan”, Wick, daughter of Jasper and Elspeth Bremner, has graduated from Robert Gordon University, Aberdeen, with a BSc (first-class honours) in Physiotherapy. She is the granddaughter of Jenny and the late James Bremner and Elret and the late Tommy Sutherland, Helmsdale. Lynne is currently working in Caithness General Hospital.

Craig Campbell, son of Coreen and Donald Campbell, Nicolson Street, Wick, graduated from the University of St Andrews with a master’s degree (first-class honours) in Chemistry with Medicinal Chemistry, achieving best in Chemistry and also best in the Faculty of Science. He is to return to St Andrews to begin research for his PhD in Asymmetric Organocatalysis.

Julie Adams, who teaches English at Thurso High School, graduated MEd in Advanced Professional Studies from the University of Aberdeen. She already has an MA from 1978 and is now a fully chartered teacher.

Frances Coats (nee Aitken), daughter of Isabella and the late Francis Aitken, Glamis Road, Wick, graduated from the Open University with a BA degree.
