Thurso born former goalkeeper's son called up to England squad

 

Angus Gunn is on loan at Norwich City. Where his dad Bryan played for 12 years.

 

THE son of Thurso born and Norwich City legendary goalkeeper Bryan Gunn has been called up to the England squad to face Brazil on Tuesday night.

Angus Gunn who is on loan at Norwich City where his father made 390 appearances between 1986 and 1998 has been called up to replace Jack Butland who withdrew from the squad.

Angus (21), who was born in Norwich, is at Carrow Road on loan from Manchester City this season and has made 11 appearances for the Canaries who are playing in the English Championship and are 13th.

Bryan's parents were James Gunn, a long-distance lorry driver, and Jessie Sinclair, a canteen worker at Dounreay. They lived in Thurso until he was four before relocating to Invergordon.

Angus has made seven appearances at England under-21 level. Bryan made six appearances for Scotland between 1990 and 1994.
