Highland Amateur Cup First Round Results

EIGHT Caithness teams are left in the Gow Lybster Ltd Highland Amateur Cup after what was a successful round for CAFA clubs.

Defending champions Wick Groats defeated Helmsdale United 3-1 at Upper Bignold to set up a titanic clash with huge rivals Pentland United who were pushed all the way in their 2-1 victory over Thurso Swifts at The Dammies.

There will be two more Caithness derbies in the next round when High Ormlie Hotspur take on Lybster and Wick Thistle will face Staxigoe United.

Castletown will face Brora Wanderers at Back Park after beating Keiss 6-0 and Thurso Acks will host Culbokie after they beat Francis Street Club 4-0.
