THE work of artists from Caithness is currently on display at the prestigious Axolotl Gallery in Edinburgh.

The show, entitled Katnes Folio, opened on Saturday night and features painting, sculpture, photography and craft work from working artists in the Far North.

Pieces vary from flamboyant seascapes to Caithness stone paperweights.

There was a large turnout for the opening from the artists and visitors alike.

"We have some of the finest artists in Scotland living in Caithness," said Jenny Bruce, who organised the show for Caithness Arts, "and each with a unique vision of the North.

"This exhibition is a wonderful opportunity to showcase what we have to offer."

Caithness Arts is currently relaunching its website and wants to encourage anyone in the county involved in any area of the arts to log in and add their latest news.

The exhibition at Axolotl, in Dundas Street, runs until November 30.
