CANISBAY poultry breeder Bettine Macaulay was celebrating when she took the overall honours in her class at Thurso Ornithological Society’s annual show.
Staged in Castletown’s Drill Hall earlier this month, the event saw Bettine win eight rosettes, including the overall poultry championship which she took with her white Leghorn pullet.
The champion-of-champions trophy went to Jane Wallace, of Weydale, whose Dutch rabbit proved a winner. A pigeon owned by James and Sarah Alexander took the junior champion award.
There was delight too for young Abbie Thomson, of Macleod Road in Wick, whose satin cavie Cheeky won her the overall cavie championship.
