A woman was rescued after she got into trouble after falling into the water at Scarfskerry Harbour.
Police Scotland confirmed one woman was saved on Thursday night close to the shoreline of the village when a police officer jumped into the water to rescue her.
The woman is now recovering at Caithness General Hospital in Wick.
North Highland Area Commander Chief Inspector Iain MacLelland said: "Police were alerted about concerns for a woman at about 9:50pm on Thursday.
"Officers traced the woman in the Scarfskerry harbour area and rescued her from the water.
"She was taken to hospital for treatment."
