THE Scottish Government’s recycling roadshow is set to visit the Far North to encourage people to recycle more and give recyclable items another life.
The roadshow events will take place at Lidl stores at Wick on Friday, March 9, and in Thurso on March 10, and at the Co-op in Thurso on March 18, to remind the public of the wide range of items that can be recycled, provide top tips on how to recycle more and give details of the recycling collections and facilities available locally.
The events will be supported by the Highland Council and a local waste adviser will be on hand to answer questions about recycling.
The roadshow events are part of the Scottish Government’s 2012 recycling campaign, which launched last month, to encourage the Scottish public to recycle more items, more often.
Councillor John Laing, the Highland Council’s chair of the TEC services committee, said: "We all need to do our bit to create a cleaner, greener Scotland. Recycling more and giving things another life is one of the ways we can do this."
