Prescription drug abuse on the rise in Caithness

THE abuse of prescribed drugs such as Valium is an increasing problem in Caithness as police pledge to continue their battle to catch dealers operating in the county.

A senior officer yesterday revealed that officers are executing weekly drugs warrants to search properties in Caithness.

Drugs ranging from cocaine to cannabis have been seized with a number of drug cultivations found growing at rural properties in Caithness in recent months.

Officers are determined to track down drug dealers operating across the far north.
