Police bid to trace driver who approached girl (11) in Wick

Police.POLICE in Wick are appealing for information about a man who reportedly tried to encourage an 11-year-old girl to get into his car in the town’s Thurso Road at around 6.30pm on Sunday.

The girl was walking to her friend’s house in the area when the incident happened.

She ignored the man’s request to get into the vehicle and ran to her friend’s house, unharmed.

The vehicle is described as a gun metal grey estate car with silver alloys.

The driver is described as being around 35 years old, with short, dark brown hair and white stubble on his top lip.

He also has a large face, pointed nose and muscular arms.

He may be wearing a light green, round-necked T-shirt with dark blue horizontal stripes and dark blue jeans.

He may also speak with an Irish accent.

Police believe there may have been a woman walking in the area around the time who may have witnessed the incident and she is urged to contact police if she has any information.
