Pilot House gets a new lease of life

A LANDMARK building overlooking Wick Harbour has been given a new lease of life as a meeting place where people can enjoy a cup of tea and a blether.

While the Pilot House can accommodate no more than 10 people at one sitting, it has become a favourite with locals and tourists who relish the opportunity to sit inside a place which has an important part of the town’s maritime history.

Peter Sutherland’s idea to open the 109-year-old building to the public three hours every weekday morning has proved a big hit.
