STAFF at the Groat office in Wick hope to take another step towards their goal of helping the community next week.
A bake sale will be held at North of Scotland Newspapers’ base in the town’s Union Street on Friday as part of its Charity of the Year initiative.
Goodies will be on sale from early morning and all the proceeds will go towards the three projects staff chose to support – the Thrumster Park Regeneration Fund, Thurso Youth FC and Keiss Family Community Project.
Following the bake sale, the hard-working committee behind the Thrumster Park Regeneration Fund has organised a quiz night in the village’s Old Smiddy Inn. It starts at 8pm and all are welcome to attend.
The money raised will go towards a new play park which will benefit around 50 local children.
