A MAN has died after he was struck by a train on the outskirts of Thurso on Friday evening.
The incident is thought to have taken place during the 4pm Wick to Inverness service and enquiries are ongoing to ascertain the man's identity.
Northern Constabulary and British Transport Police are working together to investgate this incident and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.
The railway line between Inverness and Wick was closed for four hours as buses were arranged to take passengers to their destinations.
The railway line is currently open between Inverness and Thurso.
