FIVE men have been reported in connection to drugs offences in Caithness after police carried out search warrants in the county on Friday.
In Thurso, police executed two search warrants and as a result of the operation, drugs believed to be street Valium and Alprazolam, known as Xanax, with a total estimated street value of around £1000 has been seized and two men aged 33 and 22 are to be reported.
A 32-year-old man has also been reported in relation to possession of diazepam and cannabis resin.
In Wick, two men aged 24 and 26 will be reported after being stopped in a car on Williamson Street and cannabis resin and herbal cannabis with an estimated street value of over £100 was seized.
Sergeant Doug Green, from Thurso police station said: "The action taken is thanks to the support we receive from the public who do not want illegal drugs in their community.
"As part of our work in addressing drug issues, we have been working alongside partners in health where support is available from agencies from anyone who wishes to seek advice.
"We are also working with colleagues in Education to highlight the dangers of taking drugs.
“Anyone with information about the supply of drugs is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 if you wish to remain anonymous.”
