Final preparations made for Castletown Gala night

The best-decorated float award went to Castletown's Bosom Buddies with their Charlie and the Chocolate Factory design.
Last year the best-decorated float award went to Bosom Buddies with their Charlie and the Chocolate Factory design.

CASTLETOWN Gala is all set to bring the village to life in vivid colour tomorrow.

The annual festivities start around 6.15pm when locals will be out parading the streets in fancy dress.

There will also be the unveiling of the floats, bringing more colour and fun to proceedings.

All floats should gather at top end of Traill Street ready for judging at 6.30pm.

After everyone has arrived there will be the crowning of the gala queen, Rachel MacLennan.

She and her attendants, Kerry Oag and Hayley Mackay, and flower girls, Erin Manson and Katie Pearson, hope to take to the stage in front of the Drill Hall around 7pm, weather permitting.

Following the crowning ceremony, everyone will take to the street for the gala parade.

On Sunday there is a car treasure hunt which starts at 2pm outside the Drill Hall.
