Fears for schoolkids who face long walk in the dark

Parents and children affected by the school bus withdrawal protest yesterday outside the bus shelter in Staxigoe.

 

PARENTS and pupils in Staxigoe and Papigoe have launched a protest group against the cancellation of free school transport to a Wick Primary School.

Save Our School Bus - Staxigoe and Papigoe are urging Highland Council to reinstate free bus transportation which was scrapped for children who live less than two miles from the town.

Now 12 pupils face a 1.8 mile walk to Noss Primary School every morning on a busy road as parents fear for the safety of their children.
