SENT thousands of miles away from home as a child and later forced to act as a drug courier which saw him shot, stabbed and disfigured, a man has thanked a children’s home and his foster family in Wick for saving his life.
Abdul Mkith said he does not know what would have happened to him if he had not been sent to Wick after being abused and manipulated by gangs.
He is putting his incredible life story into words in a book called The Locket and a Five Taka Note which is due to be published next month.
He is working alongside Wick author Catherine Byrne to write his story of how his parents thought they were sending him away from danger only for him to end up transporting drugs for gangs across the UK as he went through hell.
Read his incredible story in this weekend's John O'Groat Journal.
