Scouring the food stands for something sensible to eat at a show this summer, one of the taste team spotted Stoats porridge pots. Thinking they sounded interesting, she bought an apple, sultana and cinnamon one in the hope it would curb her hunger pangs.
Initially the contents looked very unappetising. Hot water had been added by the seller and, as she looked at it, all she could see was water with some oats and bits floating about.
However, after waiting patiently, and having given it a good stir, it turned into a lovely thick porridge. There was a nice taste of cinnamon and sweetness from the fruit. Not one for ready meals, she was pretty impressed in the end.
