A TRADITIONAL Christmas treat on the continent, stollen is now widely available here in the run-up to the festive season.

The taste team enjoyed Cottage Delight's marzipan stollen, which was tasty and full of fruit with a hint of spice. Not too much marzipan in this one; the taster pointed out that sometimes it can be a bit overpowering so she didn't mind.

Also tried was Heatherslaw's stollen slices. These are lovely and moist, sweeter than Cottage Delight's and very marzipany.
