IF you are a parent or are regularly around children of a certain age, then you will almost certainly have heard the name Miley Cyrus and her brand new show Hannah Montana Forever, which premiered in the UK on the Disney Channel in early October.

Miley Stewart (Miley Cyrus) is an ordinary young girl from Tennessee who lives with her father, brother and close friend, Lilly. Miley is different from many girls her age as she has a secret alter ego; the internationally-famous pop star Hannah Montana. Throughout the first three series we have witnessed how Miley copes with accommodating the demands of being a celebrated pop star with the demands of being an ordinary girl who has the same insecurities, fears, hopes and dreams as everybody else.
Miley Stewart's father is the likable Robby, who is played by Miley's real-life dad. It is clear that he dotes on Miley and can offer her sage advice at times. However, he does seem to have problems realising that Miley is growing up from a young girl into a young woman!
Miley's brother is Jackson (Jason Earles). Like most siblings, Miley and Jackson love each other dearly yet spend the vast majority of their time bickering. Jackson is unfazed by his sister's stardom as Hannah Montana, even though being seen in public with the pop sensation has caused Jackson a few problems in the past, and will certainly cause him a few anxious moments in the future too!
In the past Jackson has also had several run-ins with his former boss at the Surf Shack, Rico (Moises Arias). Although the Stewart's move away from California seems to have put distance between the pair, Rico's reappearance means that Jackson will still have to be mindful. It also means that Miley, once again, will have to put up with Rico's well-intentioned but occasionally ham-fisted adoration!
Helping Miley deal with such dilemmas and providing emotional support is Lilly (Emily Osment). As Miley's trusted confidant, Lilly has grown up with Miley and together they have experienced the many ups and downs of childhood. Of course, as Miley's best friend, Lilly also knows about her secret, so much so that when Miley becomes Hannah, Lilly reverts to Hannah's permanent companion, delightfully resplendent in a brightly coloured wig, Lola.
In addition to the regular cast, several other familiar faces will return in this fourth instalment. Oliver Oken (Mitchell Musso) will make recurring appearances, as will the Stewart's new neighbours TJ (Angus T Jones) and Siena (Tammin Sursok). Miley's former boyfriend Jake (Cody Linley) will also reappear, as will another love interest Jesse (Drew Roy), which will enable Miley to tie up the few loose ends in her life as she moves through the series towards a huge decision and a shocking revelation.
With special guest stars of the calibre of Ray Liotta, WWE star John Cena, Sheryl Crow, Iyaz, Dr Phil McGraw and Jay Leno making appearances throughout the series, and the promise of a spectacular one-hour series finale, the fourth and final instalment in the Hannah Montana quartet of TV shows may be the most enjoyable yet!
